Plot: This is a story told in backdrop of Cold War between USA( United States of America) and USSR( Union of Soviet Socialist Republic) held in 1963 and the plot is real worthy to watch. Despite the tension witnessed in two different zones, the two agents two diplomatic countries --Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and Illya Kuryakin (Hammer) – come together to stop a shadowy group from getting their hands on a nuclear warheads.
It may be interesting to note that Man from U.N.C.L.E, is lifted from a popular TV series. One of the spies in it was an American agent named Napoleon Solo, who happened to be the brainchild of James Bond-creator, Ian Fleming. So the director Ritchie’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E has done a fitting tribute to the war story. When it was aired on TV, the TV serial was relevant on account of the tensions that were prevalent and it was top slots in primetime TV shows then.
The film begins like this. There is sexy American spy, Napoleon Solo ( Henry Cavill Henry Cavill, a Britisher, was born in Jersey on 5 >> Read More... ) makes entry in the plot who matches with not so sexy super-sensitive Russian spy named Ilya Kuryakin ( Armie Hammer Born with the name Armand Douglas Hammer, Armand i >> Read More... ). Bang in the middle is the entry of the cute-sexy-firebrand, Gaby ( Alicia Vikander A girl mostly raised by a single mother Maria Fahl >> Read More... ), who happens to be the estranged daughter of a Nazi (none other than Hitler’s missing rocket scientist). Hammer tries to sabotage Solo’s dream to escape with Gaby. What is to more watchful is the role of Britsh actor Carvill plays the American spy role while American actor Hammer is chosen for Russian spy. Both have done decent job and is really appealing to watch the languages they speak with flawless accent.
Background score in the film is really appealing. Danile Pemberton has scored the background soundtrack skillfully. There is also groovy romantic number between Ilva and a drunk Gaby, which is also a bit erotic to watch. Cinematography by John Mathieson is brilliant the way the director has used various frames together to keep the film on move. The screenplay work by Ritchie is brilliant as this shows the equation between Illya and Gaby and then the chemistry between Solo and Illya. This is a spy thriller, go and watch it!
