Plot
Andy Goodrich is an art dealer. He owns a gallery. He has a daughter from his first wife and twin sons from his second wife. His second wife leaves him and their sons and goes to a rehab centre. So, Andy has no other way than to care for his kids and his gallery. When his gallery faces serious trouble, he is unable to handle the situation, as he has to care for his family and business. He requests his pregnant daughter Grace to care for his twin sons. The rest of the film showcases how he handles the business and family.
Star Performance
Michael Keaton performed excellently as Andy Goodrich. His expressions are fantastic. Mila Kunis plays Grace and has done justice to the given role. Andie MacDowell appears in a short yet notable role.
Analysis
The script is not something new, and it is predictable, too. But what makes the film stand firm is the performances of the stars. The characters are finely penned, and the right stars are placed. There are no exaggerations. We can relate the scenes to real life. The emotional scenes are executed well, especially the scene when the father seeks help from his elder daughter. With the fine performances, the scene is elevated well and, making the audience travel with the protagonist’s family. The film has good visuals and music. The editing is decent, yet it should have been crisper a bit.
