In 2021, ‘Pushpa : The Rise’ had faced a way bigger clash, when it was sandwiched between ‘Spider Man: No Way Home’, which had gained significant popularity in India, and ‘83’, the much awaited biopic on the Indian cricket team which won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. To top it all, the Omicron wave of COVID 19 was also on the rise by that time.

Yet, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Raj braved it all to become a blockbuster, raking in more than 370 crores by the beginning of 2022. While ‘Spider Man: No Way Home’ kept itself steady, ‘83’ had to bear the brunt, turning out as a commercial failure despite appreciation from the critics.
