Tollywood Unites Against Betting App Endorsements

Tollywood has united against a common enemy, i.e. betting app endorsements.

Producer Dil Raju revealed that the industry, which initially backed some betting app endorsements, has decided to cut ties after links were found between the movie piracy and the betting app industry.

One of the main reasons why Tollywood was struggling to regain their footing between April to August this year was due to the piracy gobbling into the collections of many movies, making even a film Kuberaa barely above average.

Interestingly, the central government of India had taken a strict decision against the same by introducing the Online Gaming Bill, which called for a ban on games that promoted illegal betting and money laundering.  Tollywood is one of the first regions in Indian cinema which has directly or indirectly supported this policy.
