After the movie Theri had been breaking box office records over the globe, it had set a new record in its hometown Chennai, at a very old multiplex Mayajal, probably the very first ever started in the city.
Thirteen days after its release, the movie had generated huge reviews and also won many hearts as it was reported by some sources that this movie had been watched by more than one lakh people in this one theater alone. Also, it had generated 1.21 crores in this location.
