After playing in Thaarai Thapattai with “M Sasikumar,” directed by “Bala,” Varu has been getting sound roles. Her performance in “Kasaba” with “Mammootty” had also earned a good name for her. She has been playing in pivotal roles in “Sandakozhi 2” with Vishal Reddy and Keerthy Suresh and “Maari 2” with “Dhanush” and Sai Pallavi. She also has a film with "Vimal," Kanni Raasi. Now, the actress has been playing in Velvet Nagaram, a woman-centric film, directed by Manoj Kumar Natarajan, the debutant. The film produced by Makers Studios is touted to be a psychological thriller with action base. Varu plays Usha, a journalist. She said that the film is based on a true incident. The film also features Ramesh Thilak, “Arjai” and Super singer fame Malavika. Achu Rajamani composes the tunes. The shooting will be wrapped up in May.
