While Britjo is dead, two other people are severely injured and are getting treatment. This created palpitation. The fishermen community had also announced that they would fight till they get justice. We, the VSK condemn the barbaric act of the Sri Lankan Navy. The Sri Lankans have purposely done this, as this week will have Anthoniar Festival in Katchatheevu. They wanted to restrict the Tamils in participating in the festival and hence they have staged this drama. Whether it is Congress or BJP, they support Sri Lankan and not Indian fishermen. We hope, at least from now, the government will take essential steps to save the valuable lives of the fishermen community.”
