As a producer, Suriya wanted to release the film without locking it in the cans. But, this didn’t go well with the theater owners. Panneerselvam, a theater owner, released a video, condemning Suriya’s decision to release the film online before hitting the theaters. He stated that the movie should be released first in theaters, before releasing them in digital platforms and satellite channels. He also added that as Suriya didn’t respond to their request, they have decided not to screen Suriya’s movies as well as production ventures in theaters.
