Following the cold war with the Digital Service Providers, the Tamilnadu Film Producers Council announced a strike and they decided not to: release new films, host movie or audio launches, interviews and also the movie-related activities. It was said that the theaters would re-release the recent hit films again to entertain the public. Later, it was said that the theaters would also take part in the strike by shutting down the screens from 16th March.
