Tamilnadu government had ordered a complete lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak. No shops were allowed to open, except the shops that provide essentials. Now, the government has relaxed certain restrictions. It is announced that the tea shops could be opened, but only take away is allowed. Yet, the government didn’t give any permission to open the tea shops in Chennai. This should be followed from 11th May 2020.
The essential shops in Chennai, including the vegetable shops and the grocery shops can be opened from 6 am to 7 pm and the independent shops can be opened from 10:30 am to 6 pm. The essential shops in the rest of Tamilnadu can be opened at 6 am and should be shut at 7 pm. Similarly, the independent shops in the rest of Tamilnadu can be opened at 10 am and closed at 7 pm.
The tea shops should follow certain restrictions, including spraying the disinfectants 5 times a day and also they should keep the shops hygienically. The customers should not be permitted to eat and drink inside or in front of the tea shops and they could only take parcels. The tea shops can be opened from 6 am to 7 pm. Petrol stations should operate only between 6 am to 6 pm in Chennai and the rest of Tamilnadu it is from 6 am to 8 pm. The petrol pumping stations in the highways can operate 24*7. The private organizations in Chennai can work with 33% of employees from 10:30 am to 6 pm and in the rest of the Tamilnadu, it can be 10 am to 7 pm with 33% of workers.
