Tamilnadu Coastal Guards arrested the Sri Lankan fishers for crossing their maritime border. Ten fishermen were arrested and now they are produced before the Egmore Alli Kulam court. Following the Sri Lankan’s barbaric attack on the Indian fishermen on 6th March 2017, a poor fisher, Britjo died on the spot. Two fishermen are getting treatment for their injuries at the hospital. A case had been filed against the Sri Lankan Navy. Although the Sri Lankan Navy denies the gun firing, Ranil Wickramasinghe’s cabinet has ordered an inquiry. Meanwhile, a huge protest broke out after the death of the young fisher.
