There have been a number of singers in the Tamil cine field. S Janaki is a popular singer and she staged a music performance in concert in Mysore and she departed with tears of joy. Janaki has done numbers in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. She has done about thousand numbers in every language. S Janaki began her singing career in 1952. Her profession as singer is very long. Her voice is such that the fans are mesmerized when hearing the song sung by Janaki Several years back, singer Janaki said that she is to bid adieu to the singing profession. Also, she reduced stage performances. Also, she stayed away from programs. Janaki, who has crossed the age of 80 is quitting due to the increasing age and to give way to youngsters.
This happened to be a big loss for her fans. Since some people forced her, Janaki was unable to turn down the requests. So she did numbers in some movies. Also, she enthralled fans by participating in concerts. In a development, Janaki sung her final song in her profession and the event happened in Mysore. The royal family of Mysore, Kannada cine icons and actors and actresses participated. She was honored during the event. Janaki announce during the event that this would be her last song in her profession. In spite of her announcement, everybody anticipates that Janaki sings for movies.
