'S. Janaki' is a veteran playback singer and she is to participate in a festival in Mysore. She announced that following that, she would not sing stage or for cinema songs. S Janaki, the singer has done many melodious numbers in Tamil. She gained a unique place for herself in the hearts of Tamil fans. Not alone in Tamil, but in other languages as Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam Janaki has sung more than thousand songs for movies. Few years back, the singer announced that she is quitting the field. But, due to the stress laid by near and dear ones, she did playback singing for movies.
Also, she sung in the Malayalam movie 10 Kalpanaigal. In a recent development, Janaki has announced that she would not sing for numbers in movies, and also that she would not perform on stage. In the present scenario, there are several talented singers. They do the numbers melodiously. I am participating in a program in Mysore. That would be the last event for me in the field of music. From then, I would not participate in stage performances and on stage. I desire leading a simple life. I have done melodious numbers in Malayalam. I would sing those songs in the event to be held in Mysore, said Janaki.
