, the noted Saxophonist died due to cardiac arrest today. He was admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore. The Mangalore based musician learned music from his father. Gopalnath associated with jazz flutist James Newton and recorded the music for Southern Brothers. He had combined the western music and Indian music in his production East-West. It had the wonderful compositions from Thyagaraja, Beethoven and many more legends. He had also composed the music for movies that include “

, the Prime Minister of India, shared his condolence for the death of the 69-year-old musician. He tweeted, “The remarkable Kadri Gopalnath epitomised excellence. Blessed with exceptional diligence and talent, he made a valuable contribution to Carnatic music. His works were popular across continents. Pained by his demise. My thoughts are with his family and admirers: PM @narendramodi.”
