Tamilnadu Government had argued in the High court stating that the election hosted by Nadigar Sangam is invalid, as they didn't host the election according to the bye-laws of the film association. The election, which was held on June 23 2019, didn't get the results and the ballot boxes are with the court as there is some controversy surrounding the Nadigar Sangam.
It is heard that Benjamin and Thirumalai, the actors filed a case to make the election invalid, as they were not allowed to vote and the Nadigar Sangam didn't send the information at right time and hence a lot of stars including the superstar could not register their postal votes. Meanwhile,
