Minister Jayakumar Speaks About TN Government’s Next Step!

Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar had been meeting the Press and Media and had been sharing the actions taken by the TN government on various issues. The Supreme Court ordered the central government to set up the Cauvery Management Board to distribute the Cauvery water in right proportions to Tamilnadu and Karnataka. But, the central government delayed it purposely. As the time limit given by the SC is over, the TN Government has decided to file the contempt of the court against the Central Government. Meanwhile, the Fisheries Minister said that they had been giving enough pressure to the central government regarding this and that is why the parliament session had been adjourned for 18 days. He also said that they had sent the resolution passed at the All Party meeting to the Central Government. Jayakumar says that they have joined hands with the Central Government, only for the benefit of the state and will not compromise the state autonomy. Regarding the Sterlite issue, Jayakumar said that they had asked the district collector to send a report regarding that. He also slammed the DMK government for they have done nothing to the state in their 17 years rule.
