Karthi Urges A Revamp Of Tamil Cinema

Karthi is not impressed with the current status of Tamil cinema.

Even as the actor awaits the release of his movie Vaa Vaathiyaar, he talked about a revamp of Tamil industry. Without raising fingers at a specific reason, he highlighted the identity crisis in Tamil films, and talked about the need to take risks.

Karthi isn’t completely wrong either, since Tamil industry has been underperforming since the past two years. Even a struggling Kannada industry got a booster dose with movies like Su from So, Kantara : Chapter 1. On the other hand, leaving aside a few small budget ventures, none of the big flicks are working, and the 1000 crore club remains an elusive dream.

Apart from Vaa Vathiyaar, Karthi is also awaiting the release of Sardar 2, which is a sequel to his surprise hit Sardar, which released in 2022. Karthi is also working on his return to Tollywood with the bilingual movie HIT: The Fourth Case, where he plays the role of ACP Veerappan.
