Plot
In the 70s, the government vacated some villages to build the Vaigai Dam. This affects the livelihood of some, and they started getting involved in illegal activities like marijuana trafficking. Rokkapuli lives in the area next to Vaigai Dam and is the Godfather to the people there. Kombuseevi Pandi is a youngster who lives alone. Rokkapuli helps Pandi, and soon, he joins Rokkapuli’s household. They started doing some illegal business together and earned the police’s aversion. What happened next forms the rest of the story.
Star Performance
Sarathkumar is impressive with his comedy and his action sequence is laudable. However, he should’ve have avoided the complete white hairstyle, which looks artificial. Shanmugapandian is good in action scenes, and reminds us of his father, Captain “

Analysis
Shanmugapandian has trialled another movie with a popular actor. This time it seems to have worked out better than his previous movies. In some places, he should’ve given a mild performance. He passes in action sequences, and in some places, he looks like his father. A few comedy scenes worked out well, but someedy scenes are old. The cinematography is cool. But the production design doesn’t have anything significant, as the set didn’t match a period film. The songs are not impressive, but the BGM is good.

Verdict
If certain essential things had been corrected, Kombuseevi might have become an excellent film. However, it is definitely a decent watch.
