During the lockdown, Kanika took some time to polish her direction skills. She directed a short film Maa and released it as Mothers’ Day special. She posted on her Instagram, “Never judge a mom for her looks or for her ways...Only she knows what she's going through. To all the moms, to all the to-be moms,to all the single moms,to all the moms who tried and are trying remember to look at yourself in the mirror once in a way and smile and say to yourself what a wonderful woman you are.” Kanika’s work has received appreciation from the audience and she might continue directing not only short films but feature films too.
