Is Coolie ready to restore the lost glory of Kollywood? Maybe YES!

According to the recent reports, the advance bookings of the movie are turning out to be hugely positive. 3 days are remaining, and yet the movie is all set to open at a staggering amount of 100 crores worldwide.

Despite a clash with Bollywood movie War 2, Coolie has already earned around 250 crores from the revenue of satellite and digital rights. The movie is approximately made on a budget of between 350 to 375 crores.

If the movie opens at a pace of atleast 100 crores globally, the  movie can recover its budget within the opening weekend itself. The rest depends on the quality of the movie, as well as the word of mouth.

Post COVID, Kollywood has faced a  dry spell, with only five to ten movies crossing the 200 crore mark. The highest grossing movie post COVID in Kollywood was Rajinikanth’s Jailer, which was incidentally made on a budget of 250 crores. 2024 was a forgettable year for Kollywood, where just 18 out of nearly 250 movies managed to emerge as a decent commercial success, with the highest grossing movie being the patriotic drama Amaran, which earned more than 350 crores worldwide.
