India’s Successful Attempt With Chandrayaan 2!

Chandrayaan 2, which was targeted towards the moon has got placed in the right orbit today. LOI maneuver was completed successfully. In 1738 seconds, Chandrayaan got placed at its path. The lander will separate from the orbiter and will enter the moon’s orbit, soon. It is designed to land in the south polar region of Moon on 7th September. A couple more maneuvers will be sent at 12: 30 pm and 1:30 pm from ISRO. After landing on the moon, India will join the nations that successfully made a moon landing. Already, Russia, America and China had sent their satellites to the moon.

The official Twitter page of ISRO tweeted, “#ISRO Today (August 20, 2019) after the Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI), #Chandrayaan2 is now in Lunar orbit. Lander Vikram will soft land on Moon on September 7, 2019” “Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI) of #Chandrayaan2 maneuver was completed successfully today (August 20, 2019). The duration of maneuver was 1738 seconds beginning from 0902 hrs IST.”
