The GST for the cinema tickets of Rs 100 and more will be reduced from 28% to 18%. As the cinema tickets are overcharged, the audiences think a lot of times to visit the theaters. This might be a reason for the people watching the movies online.
As the GST is reduced, the theater owners would reduce the ticket prices and this would invite a lot of audiences to theaters. Already the GST to the theatre tickets had been reduced in other states and now Tamilnadu will enjoy the benefits.
Minister “D Jayakumar,” who took part in the GST council meeting in Delhi, announced this news, today. So, let us wait and watch, if the theater owners reduce the ticket prices.
