Information and Technology Minister Manikandan announced that all the government cable connections would be provided free set-top boxes. Computer training will be provided for 26.79 Lakh rural area people at the cost of Rs. 80 crores, announced Manikandan. The public could contact the government through the website Namadhu Arasu and the site will be active soon, stated the Minister.

Following the heavy rain in the catchment areas in Karnataka, the Karnataka government decided to release the water share to TN. 4000 cu ft has been released and the Cauvery will reach TN in 2 days.

Mayilvaganam has been appointed as the assistant commissioner of police in Madurai. A lot of police officials had been transferred.
