Following the Gaja cyclone attack, the delta districts were severely damaged. The farmers lost their groves and the fields. A couple of farmers committed suicide, as they lost their livelihood to Gaja. Many people in the film industry and the politics announced their part in the relief fund and started supplying the relief materials. As a first phase, captain “Vijayakanth” party Desiya Murpoku Dravida Kazhagam started distributing the relief goods to the Gaja victims.
