The teaser for this movie was already released at a film festival at Rotterdam. However, the movie came under severe criticism for allegedly misrepresenting the girls from the Brahmin community. The criticism extended out to Vetrimaaran and Anurag Kashyap, who have previously portrayed Brahmins in a rather derogatory way in some of their movies.
