It was said that to buy a SIM Card, a person should submit the Aadhaar details. Every mobile service provider sent continuous messages to the customers and had got the Aadhaar details. Now, the Central Telecommunication Department announces that submission of Aadhaar is not mandatory. Already the Apex court announced in its verdict that Aadhaar is not necessary to get the SIM Cards. Now, the Central Telecommunication Ministry has sent notices to the Telecom companies not to collect Aadhaar details from the customers. The Telecom companies are permitted to get other documents for Know Your Customers and they are ordered to deliver the SIM Cards without Aadhaar. However, the public will not have any use with this order, as the mobile companies have already collected Aadhar and linked it with the phone numbers.
