Bromance To Release On This OTT Platform

After a decent venture at the box office, Bromance is now set to release on the OTT.

According to the recent reports, the comedy drama movie will be streaming on Sony LIV from May 1 onwards. Made on a budget of just 3 crores, Bromance earned surprisingly well. The movie wrapped up with a lifetime total of nearly 14 crores worldwide, making it one of the few successful movies of Mollywood this year.

Contrary to the bombastic performance by the Malayalam movies last year, Mollywood has started on a wobbly note this year. Many bigwigs have seen their movies crumble at the box office, including Mammootty, who had starred in movies like Bramayugam last year.

With the exceptions of Officer on Duty and Rekhachithram, no movie has been able to cross even 10 crores domestically at the Malayalam box office, let alone be a commercial success. Even the much awaited L2: Empuraan is far from being as a clean hit, despite having wrapped up with a worldwide collection of nearly 300 crores. The final domestic collections for this movie are just a little above 110 crores, which is not great at all, given that the budget of this movie was around 180 crores!
