Bijith Vijayan Reacts To Vipin Das’ Allegations

The producer had accused Vijayan, who runs a movie review channel called Cinephile, of demanding bribe in exchange for a positive review of his movie Vyasana Sametham Bandhu Mithradikal.

Responding to the accusations, Bijith claimed that he is not the one to hope for the failure of any Malayalam film, and he would like every film to succeed. However, he cannot afford to compromise with his conscience.

This is not the first time such allegations have been imposed on a movie reviewer, and it is not even limited to Mollywood. A couple of years ago, the makers of Bade Miyan Chhote Miyaan were accused of taking social media influencers, especially certain movie reviewers on a  special trip to Jordan, where a portion of the movie was shot. The reviewers subsequently showered praises on the movie, with which the makers aimed to influence the box office collections. It was another matter that the movie turned out to be a box office washout.
