It is heard that the Directors’ Association, KANFIDA threatened to boycott the 9th Bangalore International Film Festival, which is to be held in February. Recently, the association has sent a letter to the Chief Minister of Karnataka saying that they have been sidelined by the government. If they have to participate in the BIFFES, the Association has laid some conditions to the government. The Association mentioned that they had been sidelined in Puttanna Kanagal Award Committee, Film Festival Committee and the Film Policy Committee. In the letter, the directors said that the subsidies for the films released in 2013 to 2016 are not yet handed out. The main idea of the BIFFES is to support the Kannada Film industry, but it didn’t seem to be doing such, says the directors’ association. How will be the issues solved? Let’s wait and watch!
