It’s raining remakes and sequels this year for Indian cinema. As such, how would our dear Ekta Kapoor remain behind? She is out with the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 movie ‘Love, Sex aur Dhokha’.
As per some media reports, the film revolves around the ill effects of social media, and how modern technology is being misused. However, it turns out that one of the three stories is also inspired by the controversial reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. This movie will be released in cinemas by 19 April 2024.
For those unaware, ‘Love, Sex aur Dhokha’ was a found footage film, that was way ahead of its time. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, this film was a surprise hit upon its release in early 2010, earning almost 10 crores worldwide in comparison to its minuscule budget of 2 crores. This film also accelerated the careers of several young actors like Rajkummar Rao [then Raj Kumar Yadav], Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Amit Sial.
As per media reports, one of the three stories is loosely inspired by ‘Bigg Boss’. An Indian adaptation of the English reality show ‘Big Brother’, this television show has completed more than 15 seasons since its inception in early 2007. Initially hosted by Arshad Warsi, the show has been hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan since 2010.
