He was suffering from pancreatic cancer, according to the singer’s co-manager.  Born on December 1, 1934, the singer breathed his last on Aril 24, 2016.  His popularity came in the year 1972 and 1973 when his two albums ‘ Me and Mrs. Jones’ and ‘War of the God’s' hit the musical stores. He was the only conventional pop and soul singer who was influenced by electronic and psychedelic influences. 
His vocal style is varied, and he can sing for almost any mood. The singer was associated with Philadelphia, which is a genre of soul music characterized by funk influences.
