The actor talks about his decision to refuse the role of Christian Grey in the film, claiming that it is the most heartbreaking part of his professional life. He said, "It was the most emotionally destructive and difficult thing that I've ever had to deal with professionally. It was heartbreaking".
He adds that he already given his word to Guillermo del Toro, the director of Crimson Peak, over a year ago and told him he is going to do the film. Everyone was asking him since Guillermo has four months left to recast, but he choose to do it since he treated the director as a friend.
However, the actor is feeling proud of himself for being a professional and a man who keep his word.
