South Indian Heroes Who Had Good Debut

1. Mahesh Babu

Mahesh Babu is extremely popular in Telugu cinema. He made a debut as child artist in the movie “Needa” in 1979, when he was just four years old. When grown up, he made his debut as a lead actor in “Raja Kumarudu” in 1999 and won the Nandi Award for Best Male Debut.

2. Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun is a well-known actor in Telugu cinema. In 1985when he was two years old, he made his first appearance in Telugu film “Vijetha”. He also made a cameo appearance as Gopi, a dancer, in the film “Daddy”, released in 2001. His first leading role was in the film “Gangotri” in 2003.

3. Ram Charan

Ram Charan works in Telugu cinema. He has won many awards of national and regional importance. He is also known as “Mega Power Star” of Telugu Cinema. He made his debut with Puri Jagannadh’s movie “Chiruthain” in the year 2007.

4. Dhanush

Dhanush’s original name is Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja. He is best known for his work in Tamil cinema. He has won many National and Filmfare Awards. Dhanush's first film was “Thulluvadho Ilamai”, which was directed by his father, Kasthuri Raja and released in the year 2002.

5. Prabhas

Prabhas is the heartbeat of several girls not only in the south of India but throughout. His debut film was “Eshwar” in 2002. Prabhas won National Award for Best Movie of 2015 to “Baahubali”.

6. NTR Jr

NTR Jr is an actor, a Kuchipudi dancer, and a playback singer. He was starred as a child artist in “Ramayanam” in 1996, which won the National Film Award for Best Children's Film. He achieved his breakthrough success in 2001 with the blockbuster movie “Student No.1”.

7. Chiranjeevi

Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad, we know him as Chiranjeevi. Film “Punadhirallu” was his acting debut, which was released in 1978. However, “Pranam Khareedu” was released earlier at the box office. He is known for his break dancing skills, and is referred by media as the "Mega star".

8. Kamal Haasan

Kamal Hassan, is all known for this out of the box and realistic and unparallel works in Indian Film industry. He has won several Indian film awards including four National Film Awards and 19 Filmfare Awards. He debuted in the Malayalam film through “Kannum Karalum” in 1962.

9. Ravi Teja

Ravi Teja is popularly known as Mass Maha Raja. He started his career as a supporting artist in “Karthavyam” in the year 1990 and subsequently played small roles in many Telugu films. Teja also became an assistant director and worked in several Bollywood and Telugu projects.

10. Pawan Kalyan

He works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is a younger brother of famous actor Chiranjeevi. Kalyan made his acting debut through a Telugu film “Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi” in 1996.
