Barfi was released on 14th September 2012. It was directed by Anurag Basu. The film has won a national award. The movie revolves around a deaf-mute man, Barfi. His lover, Shruti, ended up marrying someone else. Years later, she realizes that he is in love with an autistic girl and feels the need to rethink her own marriage. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D’Cruz. The movie gives the notion that love can never be defined by the society’s so-called standards of normal and abnormal.

4. Taare Zameen Par

Rang De Basanti was released globally on 20th January 2006. During the release of this film, it broke all opening box office records in India. It became India's highest-grossing film in its opening weekend and held the highest opening-day collections for a Hindi film. The movie received several awards, including National Film Award for Best Popular Film. The story is basically about six young Indians who help an English lady to make a documentary film on the life of freedom fighters from their past. Later, the events lead them to relive the long-forgotten saga of freedom.

Pink was released in 2016. It is a drama thriller movie. It was directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Shoojit Sircar. In the film, three independent working women get into trouble with an influential man. The film was released on 24th July 2015. It was directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The movie cast Richa Chadha, Sweta Tripathi, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra and Vicky Kaushal. Two stories were depicted in this film. On one side, Devi is struggling with the guilt of his lover’s suicide. On the other side, Deepak, who is a low-caste boy falls in love with an upper-caste girl, and he tries his best to get a government job. The movie was appreciated by fans and critics a lot. The movie also received many national and Filmfare awards.

8. Badhai Do

The film was released on 22nd February 2022. It was directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni. The movie features Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar. The movie was based on the social issue of homosexuality. A gay guy and a lesbian woman enter into a marriage for the sake of society and their families. Later, the truth got revealed in front of everyone. Everybody accepted them in the end. 9. I Am Kalam

The film was released on 5th August 2011. It was directed by Nila Madhab Panda and produced by a non-government charity Smile Foundation. The movie title itself holds a special place in society by depicting the name of one of the most famous leaders of India-Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam played a major role as an inspiration in the life of a boy who worked at a tea stall and was referred to as Chhotu. Despite being poor, he did not have any complaints in his life. The movie basically stressed the necessity of education for every child.

10. Secret Superstar

The movie was released on 19th October 2017. It was directed by Advait Chandan. The movie features Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim. It is a story of a Muslim teen girl who is passionate about singing, but her family follows conservative thoughts. Only her mother and her younger brother are there for her every time. Her mother is a victim of domestic violence. An infamous musician found her talent and signed her for a song without revealing her identity. With the help of that musician, she thought to make divorce. Her parents, but she failed. In the end, her mother came out of the nutshell and broke her silence, and started living for her daughter.
