Zana Briski, the director of the documentary, started the shoot hoping they would cover the lives of sex workers, but the permission was not granted to do so. To obtain details the director involved children of prostitutes, giving each one of them a camera to shoot the minute details. By the end, children had developed a special bond with Zana, and she helped them to endure education and live a better life.

The documentary shows the life of Seven children who work under extreme conditions to earn bread and butter for their families. The documentary is a terrible saga of exploitation of young kids who are facing the harrowing realities of life.

This documentary deals with the issues of specially-abled persons. It shows the need and desire they have towards love and affection. Its emphasis on the life of such challenged people, who have the same desire for life as normal people do. They also crave for a companion who stays by their side lifelong. The documentary reveals the innocence of such people, who are not accepted by the society. Their search for their life partner is endless because nobody tries to understand their side of the story.

For most people in India due to the power cut, flicking on a light switch is their daily routine, but the director of the documentary says that the characters who were part of the film found it the easiest to steal electricity. 15 hours powerless day has made them risk their life to do such an activity to survive in the intolerable heat.
