Ever since the show began, so did the various theories brought about by the diehard GOT fans. Some were stupid, some were mediocre and some were extremely commendable. These have given us several moments of shock and some of them made us laugh. Out of all those here are what I feel are the top ten Fan theories.
This theory is founded on the mystery revolving Jon Snow’s parentage. It is popular belief that Ned or Brandon Stark and Ashara Dane, of the House of Dane, developed a romantic relationship and Jon Snow was born. The best part of this theory is that it does not survive by contradicting any of the other theories. House of Dane also has its roots in Valyria making it plausible for Jon to have all the powers that a Targaerian possesses and also his ascension into the position of Azor Ahai. The sword Dawn of House Dane also sings in tune with this theory. Well let’s just hope this season brings that up soon.
It really looks like quite a lot of people are fighting to become Jon Snow’s parents. If only he knew. Anyway, this theory showcases Jon to be the son of Raeghar Targaerian and Lyana Stark. It follows to show that when Ned Stark found Lyana he found her in a post labour state and was soon dead. Ned, knowing that Robert Baratheon would have the baby killed if he knew, took him back as his own bastard son.
Book readers know of the feelings the Mad King had for Tywin’s wife, Joanna Lannister. Other than that we have the facts that Tyrion is a whole lot different than his siblings. His hair is more similar to the Targaerian genes than Lannister. His eye colours are mismatched and he keeps having dreams of dragons like the ones Dani used to have.
The true greatness of Game of Thrones is that if you don’t see a person die for real and that is blood coming out of any fragment of his body then the probability is that he is not really dead. Syrio Farel was seen asking Arya to flee and then taking on the guards. Nobody saw him actually die. There are great chances that Syrio is in fact a part of the faceless men. This would take us leaps and bounds into the story.
The Azor Ahai is the great warrior who defeated the white walkers before the timeline in the show. It was predicted that his birth would happen within the end of the long summer. It was also predicted that he would be a flawless song of Ice and Fire which the theories regarding his parentage seem to support.
It is believed that Bran warged himself into the past into the Mad King’s layer at the time when he was burning Rickon Stark. He attempted to stop the Mad King who heard voices and became even more mad and ended up killing Brandon and therefore starting the great rebellion.
This theory says that when Ned found Lyana she was not only with Jon but with Meera as well. He gave Meera to Howland Reed, who was his companion, and asked him to take her and call her his daughter.
It is said that the master of poisons himseld had given Tywin a poison which made his body shrivel in the inside. This would explain Tywin’s pain stricken face when Tyrion arrivessince it is a known fact that there was no love between the two not to mention that this would eliminate the idea that Tywin was just plain constipated.
Cersei Cersei in her childhood came across a person who told her that she would one day be overthrown by a more beautiful person. Now it is understood that Brienne is not what one would conventionally refer to as beautiful but she is called Brienne the beauty. Then there is also the jealousy Cersei has because of Jamie fancying Brienne.
This theory seems to have gone to ashes with season 6 but was one of the most plausible theories. According to the theory, Hodor was a warg and had warged into Lyana’s horse to secretly protect her. But when she was kidnapped her horse was killed while Hodor was inside thus making him grow crazy.
