G Anand Gedela Ananda Rao is usually known as G. Anand or Swaramadhuri. He was born on February 16, 1944, in Tulagam Village in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. He was an Indian-Telugu playback singer. He made his singing debut in 1976 with the “ America Ammayi Zee Telugu India had come up with various serials >> Read More... ” movie. In the film, he voiced the famous song “Oka Venuvu Vinipinchenu." He began his career by performing in village festivals, and from there he went to Chennai and made a name for himself in the Telugu film industry. In a competition, he impressed star judges SP Balasubrahmanyam and K V Mahadevan with his skills. He started his musical group called “Swaramadhuri” and toured all over the world. Swaramadhuri also served as a platform for many aspiring singers.
His other superhit songs include “Vithala Vithala Panduranga Vithala” and “Dikkulu Chudaku Ramayya." He also recorded a song for Sr. NTR’s magnum opus “Daana Veera Soora Karna," widely regarded as the greatest Telugu film of all time. He passed away at the age of 77 due to COVID-19 in 2021. He was infected with the virus, and his oxygen saturation fell to 55. A timely ventilator could not be provided, which led to his death.
