Saluri Vasu Rao is a Music Director, Celebrity, Public Figure, Guitarist and Social Worker. Born on 25th January 1953 in Chennai, India, Vasu Rao is known for his work in films like Police Alludu (1994), Pacha Thoranam (1994) and Raithu Bharatam (1994). He began his musical journey with a violin, which he learned to play from Sri Samudrala Sathagopalachari. He then joined the musical troupe of Sri Pithapuram & and Sri Madhavapeddi Satayam,  G Anand and S P Balasubrahmanyam, icons of Telugu Film music. He entered the film industry in 1972 at the age of 19.

He tied the knot with Raga Manjari on 31 May 1982. He has a son named Munish and a daughter named Madhavi. His son is an actor and has done several films. He finished school at Kesari Higher Secondary School, Chennai (Madras). He works in the Telegu Film industry. He debuted as a music composer with director Vijaya Bapineedu’s Police Officer in 1986. He is involved in the Annamayya project of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams, under which he composed 100 sankeertnas as a tribute to Lord Venkateshwara.He has also composed 160 keertanas for Annamayya Paataku Pattabhishekam and 120 keertanas Annamayya Baala Sankeertanam.
