He is married to Mrudula Ghattamaneni and has two daughters: Bharathi and Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni. In 2004, he founded Krishna production private limited in Hyderabad. He started his career as a child artist with his father's movie Manushulu Chesinadongalu in 1977. After that, he took a break from acting and started completing his studies. Ten years later, he comes back again on the big screen with the movie Samraat directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, but he got recognized with the Movie Bazaar Rowdy, which released in 1988.This movie was a blockbuster at the box office.

He was last seen in the film Pacha Thoranam. After that, they started his new journey as a producer with film Arjun directed by Gunashekhar in 2004.
