Indraganti Srikanth Sharma

Indraganti Srikanth Sharma was a renowned Indian writer and lyricist who worked in the Telugu Film Industry. He was born on 29th May, 1944 in Ramchandrapuram, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. His father was Indraganti Hanumath Sastry. His spouse is Indraganti Janaki Bala. She is also a renowned writer and classical singer. Indraganti started his career as a journalist. He worked for a Telugu weekly newspaper called Andhra Jyothi. He also worked as an editor for the Andhra Prabha newspaper. Later he worked at the All India Radio in Vijayawada as a script writer. For twenty long years he wrote scripts for radio plays. All his literary works are compiled in the book titled Srikanth Sharma Sahitya Sarvaswam. Indraganti Srikanth Sharma breathed his last on 25 July 2019 at the age of 75. To commemorate the first death anniversary of Sharma, his family instituted an award called the Indraganti Srikanth Sharma Sahiti Puraskaram. The award is given to Telugu writers for their contribution to Telugu Literature.
