Chandra Siddhartha

Born on 12th May 1969, Chandra Siddhartha is a Tollywood screenwriter, director, and producer. Son of C. Poorna Chandra Rao and C. Shakuntala Devi, he graduated from Nizam College in Hyderabad with a degree in Telugu Literature. He started his career as an assistant director for the movie Jaithra Yathra in 1987. His first feature film was a movie called Inscrutable Americans in 2001 for which he also wrote the screenplay. The movie is the story of a boy named Gopal and the changes that come in his life when he moves to America to pursue higher education.

This movie shows the differences in the American and Indian lifestyle and the consequences of sudden change. This movie got fairly good reviews and a rating of 6.9/10. He started his next project Al Naluguru in 2004. This movie that spoke about the importance of human relationships was well appreciated for its touching screenplay getting a rating of 8.3/10. He then wrote the screenplay for the movie Madhumasamwhich he later directed in 2007. This is the story of how a logical man falls in love with a hopeless romantic only after their engagement is called off. The movie did fairly well receiving a rating of 6.5/10. In 2008, he began the screen play, production, and direction of the movie Idhi Sangathi starring Abbas, Raja and Tabu.

This movie, however, did not do well and received a rating of only a 4.9/10. His latest movie was one called Emo Gurram Egaravachu in 2014. He also wrote the screenplay for this movie along with S.S Kanchi. The story shows how a rural man marries a woman much different from him just to obtain a US visa.
