Banda Jyothi was a south Indian professional actress in television and films. She has mostly acted in comic roles. She was a famous lady comedian in the Tollywood movie industry. Banda Jyothi has been part of the Telugu film industry. She has shared screen space with various famous actors such as Bandla Ganesh, M. S. Narayana and many more in the Tollywood industry. She was also a dubbing artist. The real name of Banda Jyothi was Jyothi Patnaik. However, she was given the name Banda Jyothi because she is fat. Banda Jyothi was born in Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh, India. She lived there and stayed working in Hyderabad. Her house was located in a colony called Chitrapuri colony in the city of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh.

Though there are many comedians in the Telugu film industry, Banda Jyothi has made a mark and created a niche for herself solely because of her unique body language and mannerisms. She had done only a couple of films in the industry but still, she has nice recognition for her roles which is the most important for any actor or entertainer. Banda Jyothi was mostly remembered for her performance in the few films that she had acted. Unfortunately, Banda Jyothi had to leave this world after a heart attack. She was said to be ill for few months before she passed away. Banda Jyothi was very young when she got the heart attack. She was only 41 years old. She passed away on 27th of February in the year 2016 which was a Saturday.

Banda Jyothi breathed her last breath at her house in Chitrapuri colony at Hyderabad. A senior comedian, the fraternity of Telugu film mourned her demise and was shook by the sudden incident. The movie of Banda Jyothi is Andagadu which was released in the year 2005 and was directed by film director Pendyala Venkata Rama Rao. It had Telugu actors Rajendraprasad, Damini, and Bhavana in the lead roles. Her other movie named Photo got released in the big screens in the year 2006, and it was directed by the filmmaker Siva Nageswara Roa and the starts of this film were Anjali, Anand, Mukta George and many more. Banda Jyothi acted in the movie Seshadri Naidu which was also a Telugu film and it got released in the year 2004. This drama action film was directed by filmmaker Rudraraju Suresh Varma, and it was acted by Srihari, Nandita, and Swathi in lead roles.
