Small Films Pulling Tollywood Back On Track?

Looks like Tollywood and Kollywood are unintentionally choosing the same blueprint for recovery!

According to the recent reports, Tollywood has jumped back on track after a forgettable April. The secret code : Movies with small Budget, but a huge vision!

For instance, Sree Vishnu’s Single has surprised both the audience and the critics with its performance at the box office, just like Priyadarshi Pulikonda’s legal drama Court : State vs a Nobody, which released a couple of months ago. Both movies were made on a shoestring budget of less than 10 crores in total, and had a limited screen release as well.

However, the content impressed the audiences, and both the movies defied the conventions to emerge as bonafide commercial successes. Although the movie was made on a reasonably bigger budget, it was still very low compared to an average commercial movie. Despite clashing with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj and Ram Charan’s much-awaited Game Changer, the movie turned out to be a surprise hit, and is the highest grossing Telugu movie of 2025 till date.
