Will HIT franchise finally end at some point?
According to the recent reports, the makers of the HIT franchise don’t intend to stretch the franchise beyond five films. The next movie will cross the linguistic boundaries, with Karthi Sivakumar entering the franchise as ACP Veerappan.
HIT commenced in 2020, as an investigative thriller directed by Dr. Sailesh Kolanu, with Vishwak Sen and

in the lead roles. Though the collections were impacted by COVID-19, the movie still managed to succeed at the box office, with a total of 11 crores compared to a budget of 6 crores.
The movie extended into a franchise with the second instalment, starring

in the lead roles. Telugu star Nani, who was producing the first two films, teased a cameo for the third instalment, which paid off, as the second movie earned way more than the first.
However, HIT : The Third Case proved to be the biggest of them all. Despite clashing with Bollywood movie Raid 2, and Tamil movie Retro, the movie maintained its run at the box office, earning nearly 100 crores worldwide on a budget of 65 crores. With Karthi joining the fourth instalment, it would be interesting to see if the franchise attracts the interest of Bollywood.
