Here’s a guy who requires a little introduction, especially in the Tamil media industry. Rajmohan Arumugam is behind several Put Chutney videos that discuss various socially sensitive issues such as Anitha’s death, late J. Jayalalitha’s hospitalization, and so on. He’s forged himself a place in the hearts of the masses with his bold and relevant content, which people can relate themselves with the content. After completing his engineering from Chennai, he decided to join to go into a whole another profession. He started his career as a radio jockey on Radio One. He then worked in Sri Lanka before he came back for a stint with Puthiya Thalaimurai. He got opportunities to interact with the public and witness the struggles they encounter daily.

This is where he first developed social consciousness and felt the need to work on the sensitive issues strangling society daily. He joined the Put Chutney’s team when they launched in Chennai after hearing about his friends. It started as a video channel purely for entertainment, but the inclusion of socially relevant videos just happened out of chance. The team consists of people from different ideologies and backgrounds, often have various intense and fascinating arguments on the trending social issues. Since their video views reached 2 million, they perceived this as a chance to include some sensitive content, believing that they could create a social impact with it.

His family always worries about his safety as he raises questions that incur the wrath of politicians and the big companies. Though wary of the difficulties he might face, he calls his videos a 'calculated risk.' "We are just doing our work," he explains. He says, “I do happen to be at the receiving end of trolls, but the overwhelming love I receive from the majority of the public negates them all. Constructive criticism is imperative to our growth. Any suggestions for improvement are always welcome.” He receives immense respect and admiration from the youth of Tamil Nadu. Thousands of colleges have invited him to speak in their college fests. He finds this immensely gratifying and is grateful that his work has a genuine impact on today’s society. He promises to work more to provide awareness and suggestions on similar sensitive issues prevalent in the country.
