Ananthu

A Tamil singer is known for his songs in Kabali (2016), Ananth Narayan. Ananthu belongs to Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. He used to practice singing since young and was encouraged by friends and teachers. When in college he formed an orchestra and started showing his talent in the premise. He later shifted to Chennai and then met M.S Vishwanathan(MSV). He worked with him from 1995 to 2015 where he composed many devotional albums. Then he sang under music director RK Sundar who asked him to record a song named “Kashmora”. He also contributed to the Tamil drama Iraivi. That’s how he landed for the famous song of Kabali – “ Maya Nadhi”. Later he sang for the movie Vettaikaaran  (2009) and "Ulagam Oruvanukka". Ananthu dedicates all his success to MSV and wants to form an album or book.

After Ananthu earned acclaim for his song “Puli Urumudhu” in the film “Vettaikaaran” in 2009, he sang the “En Nenje” song in a 2010 Tamil-language action film “ Vamsam Click to look into! >> Read More... .” The following year, he sang two songs, “Vedhagosham” and “Tanjore Thavil,” in the film “Nandhi” and “Kandaangi Selai” in “Sagakkal.” In 2014, he worked on a theme song for the Tamil-language action comedy film, “ Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham Click to look into! >> Read More... .” Ananthu was nominated at the IIFA Utsavam Award for Best Playback Singer for his Tamil song “Maya Nadhi.” Later, he sang “Maya Nadhi” in the Hindi & Telugu versions and “Ulagam Oruvanukka” in the Telugu version of the film. In 2016, he worked on many songs, such as “Aarambam Aavadhu” (Tharai Thappattai), “ Ka Ka Ka Po Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum), “Manidhi” (Iraivi), and “Jagadhammaa” (Kaashmora). Ananthu sang four songs such as “Thanga Sela,” “ Kannamma Kannamma is a mega soap opera in the Tamil languag >> Read More... ,”  and “Urimayai Enna” in a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action drama film “Kaala.” The songs were composed by Santhosh Narayanan.

He sang “Manamengum Maaya Oonjaal” in a Tamil- language romantic road film “Gypsy” in 2020 and “Sendumalli Ya Manakara Nee” in a Tamil legal drama film “Jai Bhim” in 2021. His Telugu songs include “Bichagadu Theme” (Bichagadu), “Gunde Ninna Yenno” (Kabali), “Ey Pataakey” (Guru), “Dung Dung Dung” (Saakshyam), and many more.
