Late M.R. Radha was a famous film actor. He was born on 14th April 1907 and his real name was 'Madras Rajagopala Radhakrishnan Naidu'. He was also given a title for his acting prowess, "Nadigavel". He started doing stage shows at the age of 10 and with the growing years, he also grew his acting career. He gained popularity with a play Ratha Kanneer.

After this, he became a big name, and everyone knew him. He was aesthetic and was known for his views on this. He had played both comedy and villain roles in his life. He left his home in early age as he fought with her mother for an extra piece of fish and she had declined due to financial problems. He had three wives and three children.

Ramachandran. In this shooting incident, he had hurt himself too. They both were admitted to the same hospital in which Radha survived, but Ramachandran lost his life. Later on, he was imprisoned for killing Ramachandran. After his release from jail, he died of severe jaundice on 17 September 1979. He had over 200,000 mourners paying respect to him on hid funeral making it one of the biggest possession in South India.

A villain in celluloid, but a man of golden heart in real life is M N Nambiar. Born on March 7, 1919 he was the much sought after villain of Tamil cinema during his time. He is also referred as Nambiar Swami. He is into spirituality to a great extent and in fact started the initiative of taking devotees to Sabarimala. Manjeri Narayanan Nambiar is the original name of Nambiar. Nambiar was active in the film industry for over 50 years. He developed a liking towards acting at the age of 13 and joined a troupe. Since then, he was a busy actor, donning villain roles predominantly. Bhaktha Ramadoss was Nambiar’s debut film (in Hindi and Tamil) and he played the villain. Nambiar is the typical villain of Kollywood. Sharing screen space with seven generation of artists is no trivial feat and Nambiar achieved this. Sudhesi was the last flick of Nambiar. Nambiar is a Malayalee by birth. His first salary is Rs. 3. Apart from Tamil, he has also worked in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. Nambiar is very much concerned towards his health and he would eat only at home. The film Digambara Samiyar had Nambiar taking up 11 roles. Nambiar had worked in over 1000 films. Manthiri Kumari, Velaikari, Thillana Mohanambal and Ayirathil Oruvan are some of the flicks which garnered him many accolades. Nambiar has donned the male lead in a couple of films, including Kavitha and Kalyani. Nambiar also had a stint in television. The films that he acted at his later part of his career include, Pooparikka Varigirom, Poove Unakkaga, Rojavanam, Gentleman, Paasamalargal, Naan Mahan Alla, Mella Thiranthathu Kadhavu etc. Nambiar Nataka Mandram is the troupe initiated by this veteran actor. He has gone to Sabarimala on sixty five occasions and hence called as Maha Guruswamy. Nambiar breathed his last at the age of 89.



This lanky superstar Dhanush is an actor from Tamil cinema but has appeared in two Hindi films too. He credits R Balki and Anand L Rai for making him consider acting in Hindi films (‘Shamitaabh’ and ‘Raanjhana’). In the year 2011-12, his song  “Why This Kolaveri Di’’ continued to rise on the charts and gain millions of viewers on YouTube. Dhanush happens to be the youngest actor to receive the national film award for his performance in “Aadukalam”.  This actor had carved a place for himself in the world of cinema by his acting prowess. He has so far featured in 25 movies. Dhanush has ventured into production with his company Wunderbar Films. He is married to southern superstar Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya, He is the actor who broke the traditional hero image in Kollywood, who was neither a chocolate face hero nor had a dream boy look.  His second film ‘Visaaranai’( Dhanush had produced this film after  the success of ‘Kaaka Muttai’) was the film to get a premiere in the 72nd Venice International Film Festival and the only Tamil film to get noticed for screening in the competition section of the festival. ‘Kaaka Muttai’ was the first children film to get a national award. Kaaka Muttai was also screened at the 39th Toronto International Film festival and was appreciated, a film that depicted the lives of slum dwellers.  He was born to South Indian film director and producer Kasthuri Raja. He started his journey in Kollywood with the film ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’ which his father  Kasthuri Raja had directed. It was a massive hit in Tamil Nadu. Later, Dhanush appeared in his brother Selvaraghavan’s debut direction for Kadhal Konden, which was very successful at the box office. He made a hat-trick with ‘Thiruda Thirudi’.  After giving three successful movies in a row, his next attempt as a leading actor in ‘Pudhukottaiyilirindhu Saravanan’ and ‘Sullar’ failed as he could not be suitable in action movies. However, he got rave reviews for his body language and acting skill in ‘Pudhupettai’, but the film had an average run at the theatres.  After a gap of three years, he again rose to his star power and his film ‘Thiruvilayadal Arambam’ was declared a commercial hit. His next hit was ‘Polladhavan’ directed by a debutant Vetrimaran. In the year, 2012, he set the world music dancing to his tune by ‘Why This Kolaveri-Di’. His debut song had also proved the fact that Dhanush wanted to be a role model to the young generation. The song is a tune for his film ‘3’, written and directed by Aishwarya R Dhanush, who also made her directorial debut with the film. Dhanush also has now three other films in his kitty, including "Velaiyilla Pattathari 2", Tamil version of "Soodhadi", another new project of Anand L Rai. After Raanjhana, the actor got to see 33 Hindi film projects being offered to him. But he did not have the inclination to play any of those roles. He is the proud son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth. He is a father of two children, Linga Raja & Yatra Raja,  This 33-year old actor was born on 28 July 1982, is now eyeing to make his debut in Hollywood too.
