Though both the movies flopped at the theatres, Ashwin was adored by the audience for his innocent and precocious acting. Director Brindha Das attempted to bring Ashwin back on the big screen his coming-of-age romantic drama “Hi Da” in 2012 but despite the official release of its trailer and soundtracks, the movie did not hit the theatres. A year later, Radha Mohan presented Ashwin with the opportunity of playing a supporting role in his bilingual drama “Gouravam” (2013), starring Yami Gautam. Thereon Ashwin climbed the stairs to success with gradually fortifying supporting roles in movies “Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru” (2016), “Jacobinte Swargarajyam” (2016), “Lavakusha” (2017) and “Saranalayam” (2018). In 2018, he made his debut as a protagonist in Ajith C. The producers at Sun TV gave Ashwin his break on the small screen with the supporting role of Maniyarasu in the family soap opera “Chellamay” (2009). They were hugely impressed with Ashwin’s intense performance and cast him as the lead actor, Ethir Veetu Paiyan, in “10 Mani Kathaigal” (2014). The series lasted for shortly for a year which was long enough for Ashwin to captivate his audience. Since then Ashwin has become a staple for the Sun TV, featuring as the lead in four more of their productions, namely “Thamarai” (2014), “Kula Deivam” (2017), “Sumangali” (2018) and most recently, “Tamil Selvi” (2019). For his latest project, Ashwin will be playing the protagonist in Punith’s upcoming romantic drama Kadhal Ondru Kanden,” starring Rio Raj and Nakshathra, which is scheduled to release in the winter of 2019.
