Rani Jeyaraj is a famous model and actress in the Kollywood film industry. She is widely known as the first runner-up of Femina Miss India hosted in 1996. Rani Jeyaraj was born in Zambia, Africa, where her parents worked as teachers. Though she was born and raised in Zambia, she is from Kundal Village in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India. She completed her high school education at the prestigious Bishop Cotton Girls School in Bangalore, Karnataka, and was interested in pageant competitions and modeling.
For her modeling talent, Rani Jeyaraj got the first runner-up title in Femina Miss India 1996, where Sandhya Chib from Karnataka got the winning title. She was also among the Top five contestants in the international beauty pageant-Miss World, hosted in 1996. After participating in the beauty pageants, she moved to Mumbai and did modeling for over two years.
She later developed an interest in filmmaking and assisted the famous Indian director, Prahlad Kakkar You would surely remember the Pepsi ad featuring A >> Read More... , in various assignments and worked in different ad films. Apart from being a model and assistant filmmaker, Rani Jeyaraj played the lead role in the 2005 short film-9 Minutes to Nirvana, directed by Naren Multani.
