Ameer is an Indian Cinema producer, director, and actor. He works prominently in Tamil cinema. Till date, he has directed four films, out of which three have been successful. Ameer's full name is Ameer Sultan. He was born in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu on December 5, 1966. He has studied economics while worked as an entrepreneur. Later, he worked in the film, Sethu as an assistant director as his debut in the industry. Sethu won many awards for its release in the year 1999.
In 2002, he directed his first movie, Mounam Pesiyadhe, which is a romantic comedy film. This film is also Trisha Krishnan's first film in the lead role. This movie also had cast Suriya in its lead. Also, in 2002, he started Teamwork Production House, his production company. His next movie, Raam, was produced and directed by himself. Raam is a Mysterious and thriller film. This film is about a girl who is autistic and is on remand for her mother's murder. The movie received a lot of recognition for its storyline. Jiiva portrayed the autistic girl's role won an award at Cyprus International Film Festival.
Paruthiveeran, his movie released in 2007, is one of his best work. It had Karthi as the lead role. It was also Karthi's debut movie. Paruthiveeran, won six Filmfare Awards South, two National Film Awards and more. Also, it won the international award, Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian for the Best Film in Berlin International Film Festival.
